Confirmation

Confirmation is not the end; it’s the beginning! The sacrament of confirmation strengthens the baptized and obliges them more firmly to be witnesses of Christ by word and deed and to spread and defend the faith. It imprints a character, enriches by the gift of the Holy Spirit the baptized continuing on the path of Christian initiation, and binds them more perfectly to the Church (can. 879). This great sacrament perfects the baptismal grace in us, as well as the virtues of faith, hope, and love, which we have received (CCC 1316).

Confirmation helps us to be “spiritual warriors” to proclaim the Gospel of Christ in season and out of season, to be good Christian disciples serving the needs of the poor and those of our community, and growing in more intimate union and friendship with God through his Son Jesus Christ and through the Holy Spirit.

Youth who wish to be confirmed should have their parents contact Mrs. Doris Wigginton at 434-3153. Adults wishing to be confirmed as part as the Rite of Christian Initiation should contact the parish office at 434-1878.
