Liturgical Ministries

We invite you to consider helping assist the priest in one of the following roles as part of the celebration of the Sacred Liturgy at the Holy Mass.

Altar Servers

Altar servers assist the priest during the celebration of the Sacred Liturgy. They help prepare the sacred vessels and vestments, set-up the altar during Mass, and assist in various roles throughout the liturgy. Any young person who has made his or her First Communion and would like to join should have his or her parents speak with one of the parish priests or call the parish office at 401-434-1878.

Lectors

Lectors proclaim the Word of God in Sacred Scripture during Mass. As part of the Liturgy of the Word, this ministry is essential to a prayerful and reverent celebration of the liturgy. If you are interested in being a lector, please speak with one of the parish priests or call the parish office at 401-434-1878.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion help distribute Holy Communion when large numbers of the faithful make it impossible for the priest to distribute Holy Communion himself. Likewise, because the priest is unable to visit all of the sick of his parish every weekend, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion may be deputed to help bring the Holy Eucharist to the sick or infirm.
